Sammy Hagar is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a milestone announced by the Walk of Fame’s official Instagram account. This honor, marked as the 2,779th star, will be unveiled on April 30 at 11:30 am PT, situated at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, recognizing Hagar’s contributions in the Recording category.
Reflecting on his journey, Hagar shared a message expressing his drive and determination, stating, “It’s where all my drive comes from. I was willing to work hard to ensure I was never poor again. Even now, I can still go to that place and remember that feeling, but now it drives me to want to give back and to show kids that if you work hard, there’s going to be an open door out.”
The induction ceremony will feature notable personalities like John Mayer and Hagar’s longtime manager Tom Consolo, hosted by Guy Fieri. Hagar, known as the Red Rocker, was previously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Van Halen in 2007, though he expressed a wish for greater participation from the band’s members. In a candid 2018 interview, he also advocated for the induction of Montrose, citing their influence on bands like Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, and Def Leppard, although this induction is yet to materialize.
