Watch Taylor Swift Perform ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Title Track for the First Time in Lisbon

Taylor Swift wowed Lisbon, Portugal, on Saturday by performing the title track from her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” live for the first time.

“This has become a tradition on the Eras Tour where this part of the show I try to be very creative and think of things you might want to hear, and I always do a different thing on the guitar and a different thing on the piano,” Swift said during the “Surprise Songs” segment of her set. “So this is actually the first time I’m ever playing this one live.”

Swift then played “The Tortured Poets Department” on acoustic guitar, which included an outro with elements from her 1989 (Taylor’s Version) song “Now That We Don’t Talk.”

For the second Surprise Song of the night, Swift combined “You’re on Your Own, Kid” from *Midnights* with “Long Live” from *Speak Now*.

The previous night’s concert in Lisbon featured the live debut of “Fresh Out the Slammer” from *The Tortured Poets Department*. Recent European shows on the Eras Tour have included the first performances of “How Did It End?” and “Guilty as Sin?”. Swift also performed a medley dedicated to Swedish producer Max Martin and a 1989 mashup to celebrate the 89th Eras Tour show.
