Jane’s Addiction’s classic lineup made a triumphant return at London’s Bush Hall, marking their first show together in 14 years. With co-founding bassist Eric Avery back in the fold since 2022, the band seized the moment to unveil a new track titled “Imminent Redemption.”
This latest song follows their comeback single “True Love,” released last year, marking a resurgence of creativity after over a decade without new music. Formed in 1985, Jane’s Addiction consists of Perry Farrell on vocals, Dave Navarro on guitar, Stephen Perkins on drums, and Eric Avery on bass.
Although the band has seen various lineup changes over the years, including appearances by musicians like Flea and Duff McKagan, last night’s show saw the core members reclaim the stage. Navarro’s absence due to Covid recovery made this reunion even more poignant for fans.
Avery’s return to Jane’s Addiction seemed unlikely, given his previous estrangement from the group, which included a failed reconciliation attempt between 2008 and 2010. However, a heartfelt conversation between Avery and Farrell in 2022 paved the way for his return. Avery described the reconciliation as a long-overdue resolution between two adult individuals.
Reflecting on the band’s renewed dynamic, Avery expressed positivity and growth, highlighting the contrast to previous reunion attempts. Meanwhile, Farrell and Perkins have been occupied with Porno For Pyros, their other band, which recently embarked on a farewell tour following the release of their first new song in 26 years, “Agua,” last November.
