At just 24, Dakota Striplin wowed the audience of The Voice Australia with his soulful rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender.” What made his performance even more intriguing was his revelation that he might be Elvis Presley’s grandson. Growing up, Striplin admired The King, and a recent family discovery added fuel to this speculation. It turns out that his biological father may have had a connection to Elvis, as his grandmother supposedly worked at his concerts.
The resemblance between Striplin and Elvis is striking, catching the attention of judge Kelly Rowland. As Striplin sang, Rowland turned her chair, followed by Delta Goodrem. Guy Sebastian, impressed but hesitant, expressed regret later for not turning his chair.
In subsequent episodes, Striplin showcased his versatility with a lively performance of “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from The Lion King. Rowland and Goodrem passionately vied for Striplin to join their teams, with Striplin ultimately choosing Rowland.
Although he faced elimination later in the competition, Striplin didn’t let that stop him. He auditioned for America’s Got Talent Season 12, earning praise for his rendition of “You’re the One That I Want” from Grease. Despite not advancing further, Striplin continues to pursue his musical career, releasing original music. You can follow him on Facebook or Instagram for updates.
