Shoppers Stunned as Ronan Keating Turns Tesco into a Surprise Concert

Tesco customers in Hemel Hempstead got more than they bargained for when Ronan Keating popped up between the aisles for a surprise acoustic performance on Monday, January 15.

The former Boyzone frontman, now 46, casually strolled in with his guitar and began serenading unsuspecting shoppers with some of his biggest hits. From the beloved “When You Say Nothing At All” — celebrating its 25th anniversary — to upbeat classics like “Life is a Rollercoaster” and “Lovin’ Each Day,” Keating transformed the grocery store into a mini-concert hall.

Adding to the charm, he even took song requests on the spot, creating a spontaneous and intimate experience for lucky fans who just happened to be doing their weekly shop.

This surprise gig kicked off Keating’s new role as Tesco Mobile’s “Roaming Ambassador,” a fun campaign that will take him around the UK, popping up in unexpected places to perform live.

“It’s such a joy to celebrate this milestone with fans in a way they’d never expect,” Keating said with a smile. “You don’t usually get a concert while picking up your groceries!”

Footage of the performance quickly made its way online, where fans shared their amazement. Some called it “the best shopping trip ever,” while others joked they’d be switching supermarkets just for the chance to catch a live show next to the frozen peas.

From pop stardom to pop-up shows, Ronan Keating continues to bring joy wherever he goes — and Tesco shoppers just found out that grocery shopping might never be the same again.
