Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Days Were Filled With Love, Music, and Peace at Home

In his final days, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne found peace in the things he cherished most — family, music, and home. The Prince of Darkness, who passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, spent his last moments in England, surrounded by the people who loved him deeply.

A close family friend shared that Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife of 43 years, saw her greatest wish come true: “Ozzy was at peace. He was home, with music playing and his loved ones by his side. That’s all Sharon hoped for.”

Ozzy and Sharon married in 1982 and raised three children together: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. Ozzy also had three children — Jessica, Louis, and Elliot — from his first marriage. Each of them played a role in helping Ozzy find comfort as his health declined.

Just over two weeks before his passing, Ozzy took the stage one last time at Villa Park in Birmingham, reuniting with Black Sabbath for a powerful farewell show. It was an emotional evening — not just for fans, but for Ozzy too. Unable to stand for long due to Parkinson’s and injuries from a past fall, he performed from a custom-built bat throne, determined to give everything he had.

“That show meant everything to him,” a source said. “It brought his journey full circle — back to where it all began.”

In the months before the concert, Ozzy was determined to prepare himself physically. On his SiriusXM show Ozzy Speaks, he said: “I’m giving 120 percent. If my God wants me to do it, I’ll do it.” With the help of a dedicated trainer, Ozzy pushed through pain and fatigue with one goal in mind — to be on that stage.

When asked whether he was nervous, Ozzy admitted, “Sometimes. But if I start obsessing, I’ll go mad. I just take it one day at a time.”

It was Sharon who came up with the idea for the farewell concert, giving Ozzy a reason to keep going. As he said in an interview, “You wake up and something else has gone wrong. But I’ll be up there, and I’ll do my best.”

On July 22, his family released a heartfelt statement:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”

Ozzy Osbourne may have left the stage, but the echo of his music and spirit will continue to inspire generations.
