Celine Dion has joined the many voices around the world paying tribute to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on July 22 at the age of 76. Known for her powerful ballads and grace, Dion took a moment to share her personal thoughts about the Prince of Darkness—someone she deeply admired, even from a different musical world.
“I was heartbroken to hear about Ozzy’s passing,” she wrote in a touching post on July 25. “We were label mates for years, and even though we came from very different places musically, I always admired his boundless energy and his incredible ear for melody—especially on songs like ‘Mama I’m Coming Home.’”
She continued, “He was a true original—fearless, larger than life, yet kind, thoughtful, and incredibly generous.”
While fans might not have expected much overlap between the worlds of Ozzy and Celine, her message is a powerful reminder that great music—and great people—transcend genre. She ended her tribute with love for Ozzy’s family and fans:
“My heart goes out to Sharon, their children, and to all of his fans around the world. Sending love, always. – Celine xx”
Ozzy’s passing has sparked an outpouring of emotion across the globe, with fans, artists, and fellow rockers coming together to celebrate his legacy. His hometown of Birmingham hosted a massive public procession, while tributes have poured in from both the metal world and beyond.
One of his final and most memorable performances took place on July 5, 2025, during the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham. Sharing the stage with Black Sabbath, Metallica, and others, Ozzy gave everything he had. Though battling health challenges, he delivered a powerful performance that now stands as a lasting gift to fans.
The concert also raised over $190 million for causes close to his heart, including Cure Parkinson’s and local children’s hospitals—a final act of generosity from a man who gave everything to his music and his fans.
Ozzy may be gone, but as Celine and countless others have reminded us—his spirit, his music, and his kindness will live on.
