After nearly a decade away from North American stages, AC/DC roared back to life on April 10 with an electrifying show in Minneapolis, officially launching their much-anticipated PWR UP tour. The energy? Off the charts. The riffs? As fierce as ever.
This six-week tour will hit 13 cities across the continent, wrapping up May 28 at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland. It’s not just a comeback—it’s a full-on rock revival.
The band’s lineup features some familiar and some fresh faces: Brian Johnson is back on vocals, Angus and Stevie Young are melting faces on guitar, Matt Laug’s on drums, and newcomer Chris Chaney—who’s played with Jane’s Addiction and Alanis Morissette—brings the bass.
Opening night at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium was pure power. Fans were hit with a flurry of classic anthems, including “Highway to Hell” and “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It).” Five tracks from Back in Black kept the crowd headbanging and shouting every lyric like it was 1980 all over again.
After the U.S. run, AC/DC heads across the pond for 12 more shows in 10 countries—kicking off June 26 in Prague and wrapping August 21 in Edinburgh. It’s their first show in Scotland in 10 years, and yes—tickets are still available if you’re lucky.
The tour celebrates their 2020 album Power Up, a thunderous return to their roots that critics loved. NME called it “a joyous celebration of unbridled heavy rock.”
Even pop royalty is catching the fever—Dua Lipa surprised fans in Melbourne with a killer cover of “Highway to Hell” just last month.
So if anyone ever tells you rock is dead, tell them AC/DC just turned the volume up to 11—and they’re not done yet.
