On July 13, 2019, at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, Paul McCartney concluded his Freshen Up tour with a memorable surprise for fans: a reunion with fellow Beatle, Ringo Starr. Introducing Ringo to the audience, Paul announced, “We’ve got a surprise for us, a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone: Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only, Ringo Starr.”

Together, they performed energetic renditions of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)” and “Helter Skelter,” much to the delight of the crowd. After their performance, Ringo playfully tossed his drumsticks into the audience and feigned throwing Paul’s bass guitar as well. Expressing his joy, Ringo said, “It’s been a thrill for me,” to which Paul responded, “I love you, man. Peace and love, Ringo.”

This concert marked the final night of Paul’s U.S. tour, which began in May 2019 in New Orleans. Bidding farewell, Paul told the audience, “Farewell to you guys. Farewell to America. Only one thing left to be said: We’ll see you next time.”

The duo has reunited on stage multiple times over the years, including a 2014 performance celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ debut on The Ed Sullivan Show. Their collaboration at Dodger Stadium in 2019 was a testament to their enduring friendship and the timeless appeal of their music.
